I wrote this track at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. I was having a very successful year working as an actor, and then every upcoming gig was gone instantly, on top of personal life issues that I couldn’t seem to fix. The moment Baker Aaron sent me this track, I knew I had to approach it with bars based on the drums intro alone, but the heavy synth hook reminded me of an early Kid Cudi joint. That inspired the styling and one-word emphasis in the chorus.

Transparency-
Some days you create something and you second guess it. Even when you’ve been proven right time and time again by the people cheering you on. This video is one of those creations for me.

I liked it, and then I didn’t like it because of opinions (that arguably make sense). But the truth of the matter is - when you’re REALLY creative, you’re connected to something deeper than what most folks can see.

This video is dope to me because I’m building on traditions I grew up with, coming from the dial-up generation, I’m tapping into the zeitgeist. I come from the YouTube era…where vlogs started. So to be able to incorporate this style of expression, into such a millennial song makes sense to my artistic mind. An introspective song requires a first-person experience. 🙏🏾

Idk if this works, but it doesn't matter, because I love this.
